Adopt/foster from breed specific rescue?

I have a friend who volunteers with a Greyhound Rescue. They may have different requirements for specific dogs, it just depends on which one you like. I know volunteering with a beagle rescue there is a phone interview, a 4page application, home visit. Some people may lose patience with this procedure but to me this shows of a good rescue trying to place the right dog with the right family. Good for you for looking to rescue!
